Your buddy in Teams and Copilot

A Block Buddy is a face for your agent, drawn from its name. Teams, Outlook and Microsoft 365 Copilot round an app's icon themselves. Use the bleed file: a plain square, no rounding, no border.

What Microsoft shows: a rounded square, in the app bar, the store and beside the agent's messages.

Get the files

Drawn in your browser from the name above. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

The outline icon at 4×, on a dark ground. One colour and no blocks: they don't read at 32 px in one colour.

No animated files here: Microsoft takes PNG icons only, and cards don't play animated GIFs.

Set it on your app or agent

A Teams app or a Microsoft 365 Copilot agent:

  1. Download the Colour icon (the 192 × 192 square) and the Outline icon.
  2. Go to dev.teams.microsoft.com → Apps → your app → Branding.
  3. Upload the PNG as the Color icon, and the Outline icon file as the Outline icon. Save.
  4. Publish again: Publish to org (an admin approves it) or Preview in Teams. People see the new icon once the update reaches them.
  5. If the bot also has an Azure Bot resource: in the Azure portal, open it → Bot profile → Icon, upload the same PNG, then Apply.

A Copilot Studio agent:

  1. Download the Colour icon.
  2. In Copilot Studio, open the agent, select the agent icon in the top bar → Change icon, pick the PNG, and Save. It can take up to a day to show everywhere.
  3. For Teams: Channels → Teams and Microsoft Copilot → Edit details, set the icon and Save. If an admin already approved the agent, submit it for approval again.

For agents

The icon lives in the app package, and a person publishes it: there's no runtime API, and no face per message. An agent can still show its mode inside a reply, as an image in an Adaptive Card.
